How We Did It: The Journey to an Organic Guest Bathroom

organic guest bathroom

A guest bathroom is one of the few rooms that you and your guests will both use. It is often the most accessible bathroom in the house, meaning everyone pops in there at least once. This adds pressure to make this room interesting and stylish!

Creating a modern and subtle guest bathroom design only takes a few style tricks to come together! To achieve a striking, organic bathroom that will impress your guests and make them feel comfortable, follow along with this San Diego design-build transformation!

How We Did It

Find the Wild Thing

The best San Diego interior designers know that a bold and beautiful wallpaper mural can transform a boring room into a must-see space … even when it’s a bathroom. This wallpaper from Rebel Walls has a charming, floral feel without any of the bright, overwhelming colors that floral wallpapers often have.

The variety of greens against a white backdrop opens up the room while making it a relaxing space with a sense of nature and peace. The mural itself is an incredible work of art with soft, sketched outlines and changing hues.

Thanks to the uniqueness of this eye-catching mural, there really isn’t any need for daring wall art or conspicuous accents. And if you’re like us, it reminds you of one of the best children’s books out there!

Go All Natural

After choosing the wallpaper mural, it was clear this bathroom needed some wood to complement the all-natural theme. Because this is a guest bathroom, the shower isn’t used often, so we took the opportunity to try something different and hone in on the feeling of nature we wanted.

We found the perfect wooden tile on Porcelainosa that had a unique texture and a matching wood floor tile. Guests will be mesmerized by this stunning shower that looks like it belongs in a tropical paradise.

The wood tone of the tile flows beautifully with the gold showerhead and handle for an overall warm, bronzed look. The free-floating stone vanity adds to the jungle-style of the bathroom and adds a touch of chic.

With a Hint of Gold

The wallpaper mural is the star of the show in this guest bathroom space, but gold accents add a touch of whimsy and elegance. And we kept the details simple, using a minimalist mirror with a thin gold frame and sleek but standard gold faucets for the sink.

The white marble sink and gold Brizo faucet, which we like to elevate 8 inches in guest bathrooms for a more modern look, encompasses both nature and a touch of gold. Interior design in San Diego is all about flashy colors and bold designs.

By choosing a marble with touches of gold, we tied the gold accents into the natural feeling of the wood, wallpaper and marble. After all, gold is found in nature! The resulting space is equal parts luxe and modern, bold and bright.

Moral of the Story
